She shouldn't have come to Innsmouth. That's all she could keep telling herself as she bobbed with the waves. She didn't know how she had found herself under the sea like this, it was if the waters had called out to her very subconscious. Even now, they grew heavier and sucked her down, and she did not fight...as she drifted in and out of consciousness, she reflected on how she should have long drowned by now, but something was keeping her alive. As she reached the sandy bottom, a current carried her through the pitch darkness, to a great, looming cave, here since the oceans formed. A pair of thin red slits glowed suddenly before her, illuminating her body--Great Cthulhu had briefly drifted ever so slightly out of his deep slumber, though he remained still in dreams. Stretching out his hand, he gave her a new form, as one of his thousands of emissaries who had met a similar fate long before her...
But the Mad Deity had not counted on the girl's warmth of heart in her former life. This was not a cruel sea witch, embittered by the land. This was merely a friendly octopus girl. Octo-Vanny was born. For *Cricket-Syamota's big old Halloween collaboration, Vanny as Disney's Ursula. :3 Originally, I wasn't going to do much for Halloween in terms of art--I was thinking maybe a Staple Girl picture since I hadn't drawn her in a while. BUT Ms. Syamota very generously offered to colour the picture, and how could I turn that down? The lineart is three years old, so that might look a little dated (and pixely...I couldn't find the original-sized file x_x) but I think she has done a great colouring job. ...I seem to be putting a LOT of Vanny in my gallery lately. x_x Need to cut back on that, give the other characters a chance to shine. |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
